PURPOSE:To maintain the activity of an oxidation catalyst contg. molybdenum stably for a long time, by carrying out a catalytic reaction by using a packed carrier carrying Mo oxide on a heat resistant inorg. material which is inactive to the catalytic reaction together with an oxidation catalyst contg. Mo. CONSTITUTION:When a catalytic reaction of olefin is carried out in a fixed bed reactor packed with an oxidation catalyst contg. Mo, the catalytic reaction is carried out by using a packed carrier carrying Mo oxide on a heat-resistant inorg. material (such as silica) which is substantially inactive to the catalytic reactin together with an oxidation catalyst contg. Mo. In this case, suitable Mo compd. for the carrier of the Mo oxide is ammonium molybdata, etc. The mixing ratio of the carrier to the catalyst is 10-90vol.% of the mixture. The amt. of Mo oxide to be carried on the carrier is preferably 0.005-0.6g-atom(expressed in terms of metal) per 1g-atom of Mo in the catalyst. As the result, the activity of the catalyst is not deteriorated for about 1.5 year up to about 3 years even if the catalyst which may have about only 1 year life by the conventional method. |
