The invention relates to a process for obtaining a dicyclopentadiene concentrate from a C5/C6 fraction which was obtained as the liquid fraction in the pyrolysis of hydrocarbons and to its supply for further use. The aim of the invention is to obtain, by use of a simple technology without vacuum and cooling units and an additional purification step, a dicyclopentadiene concentrate by adding, according to the invention, a certain amount of toluene and/or C8-aromatics and, if appropriate, water vapour to the C5/C6 fraction either directly before entry into the distillation column or as a separate production stream in the distillation column. The dicyclopentadiene concentrate obtained in this way can be used without further treatment as a starting substance in the synthetic resin industry.
