Magnetic coding device for workpiece carriers

A magnetic coding device (10) for workpiece carriers exhibits a holder (11) formed from a plastic bar, at the front (17) of which soft-magnet shorting devices (18) are attached. These are used for holding magnetic discs (14), which can be freely turned over in holes (13), in one of their two end positions. The soft-magnet shorting devices (18) consist of a soft-magnetic powder which is suspended in a synthetic material. Such a magnetic coding device is suitable for all workpiece carriers in which the coding is to be achieved with the greatest possible writing distance and is to be retained as reliably as possible. <IMAGE>
