PURPOSE:To obtain uniform CdS particles composed of single particles and high in sensitivity and superior for use in an electrophotographic sensitive body by introducing H2S into an aq. soln. of HCl contg. CdCl2, adding a specified amt. of fluxes to the obtained CdS, and calcining it at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:CdS is precipitated by inroducing H2S into an aq. soln. of HCl contg. 1mol of CdCl2 and 5X10<-5>-2X10<-4>mol of Cu salt. The resultant CdS is washed with water till the electric conductivity of the supernatant reaches <=200muS/cm, and dried at 200 deg.C. Two pts.wt. CdCl2 and 0.5pt.wt. NaC are added as fluxes to 100pts.wt. dried CdS and after thorough mixing, they are calcined in the temp. range of 400-500 deg.C for about 60min. Then the CdS is washed with water and freed of remaining ions, and dried. The CdS thus obtained is composed of 2-5mum particle diameter single particles of a 100% hexagonal system, and high in sensitivity and smooth on the surface, and superior for use in an electrophotograhic sensitive body layer. |
