An arrangement for monitoring signals which emanate from a supply network line, at outputs of control circuits for controlling signal lamps in traffic control systems, with respect to contentious signal combinations. In such an arrangement, logic signals are derived from the supply voltages supplied to the signal lamps, the _0_ and _1_ values of which logic signals correspond to the positive and negative stage, respectively, of the supply voltage. Contentious signal combinations are in this case monitored for the simultaneous occurrence of one of the logic signal values. Such an arrangement has the disadvantage that an external signal voltage, which is phase-shifted with respect to the lamp supply voltage and into which the signal lamps can trigger, is not detected. In order to detect this external signal voltage as being contentious as well, a storage element is provided which is controlled by a phase-shifted clock pulse signal and ensures that a continuous signal having a specific logic value is emitted when the supply signals are in the same phase. Contentious external signal voltages are thus always detected as being contentious. In addition, the arrangement is constructed such that it detects a so-called preceding enabling signalling as not being contentious. <IMAGE>
