摘要 The production of the necessary internal armature and armature hooks on the individual segments of a commutator in accordance with the previously known methods is relatively costly. If the commutator is manufactured from strip material, said material must be pre-rolled and upset in separate processes, and the individual hooks are not scratched on until this has been done. The inside can also be broached in order in this way to produce the webs for upsetting the hooks. The method which is reported here for the patent provides the capability to produce in a single procedure, on commercially-available broaching machines, a copper ring which can be produced both from tubing as well as from strip material by means of a combined broaching/upsetting process [lacuna] the corresponding webs behind the individual segments. A so-called 3-stage tool is involved here, which forms the smooth right-angled webs in the first stage, upsets these webs on the internal diameter in the second stage, and then broaches the minimum required distance between the upsetting points, by means of spacer blades, in the third stage.
