PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from penetrating between printing elements and prevent the function of the printing elements from being hampered due to solidification of the ink or the like, by a method wherein printing surfaces of printing elements are deviated by a predetermined distance in a transverse direction. CONSTITUTION:Adjacent printing surfaces 2, 2 of the printing elements 1, 1... are spaced from each other by a distance L. In a printing operation in which the printing surface 2 directly strikes an ink ribbon, even when the ink of the ink ribbon is adhered to the printing surface 2, the ink can not penetrate to the depth between the printing elements 1, 1 because the printing surfaces 2, 2 are spaced from each other by the predetermined distance L. Therefore, the action of the printing elements is not hampered by the ink, and a smooth operation of the printing elements can be expected. Further, since the printing surfaces provided at the tips of the printing elements are sufficiently spaced from each other, a coating material for preventing the ink from penetrating along the surfaces may be applied to the printing surface, if required. |
