PURPOSE:To prepare uniform particles each having a hexagonal system and the smooth surface of a photoconductive layer and CdS suitable for obtaining a photosensitive body superior in resolution and sensitivity by incorporating a specified amt. of each of Cu and In in CdS prepared by adding chlorine. CONSTITUTION:CdS is pptd. by bubbling H2S into 2 liters of an aq. soln. contg. 1mol of CdSO4, (0.5-4)X10<-4>mol of CdSO4, (0.5-3)X10<-4>mol of In2(SO4)3, 2 N H2SO4 and 4 N HCl. This CdS ppt. is washed with water to remove impurities out of the surface, and after filtration and drying, a mixture of 100pts.wt. CdS and 5-15pts.wt. mixed fluxes of CdCl2 and NaCl is calcined in the temp. range of the m.p. of the fluxes to 50 deg.C higher temp. The CdS thus obtained is composed of a 100% hexagonal system, and about 1mum in size, and composed of single particles. This CdS is again calined and freed of residual ions by using an ion exhcnage resin, and dried. The CdS thus obtained is used for forming a photosensitive body capable of forming a superior image. |
