<p>In its position of rest, a closing device (18) closes the insertion slot or insertion slots (2) of the automatic coin collector. A test coil (9) of a test device is arranged directly laterally in front of the (or each) insertion slot (2). Only when a metallic body (or only when an acceptable coin) influences the coil field of the test coil (9), the said coil field being located in front of the insertion slot (2), does the test device trigger the opening of the closing device (18) which remains open for a predetermined time sufficient for the passage of a coin (35) or until the coin or the metallic body passes a coil (38) at the entrance of the coil channel (34). Because the closing device (18) opens the insertion slot (2) only when a metallic body (35) is located in front of it (2), paper shreds, cardboard strips and other easily deformable bodies cannot be introduced through the insertion slot (2) into the coin channel (34), and therefore the latter cannot be clogged. <IMAGE></p> |
