In a process for producing a composite pipe having a load-bearing outer layer of glass fibre-reinforced plastic and an inner layer of rubber, the outer layer is produced by a process of winding on a mandrel. In order to reduce the production effort, first the inner layer of rubber is applied to the mandrel and then the outer layer of glass fibre-reinforced plastic is produced on the inner layer still disposed on the mandrel.
