Automatic switching-on protection for rechargeable small electrical apparatuses, or those which are operated from single-cell batteries, for personal requirement, especially for apparatuses which are held and guided by hand, such as electric razors, toothbrushes or the like, which are provided with on and off switches which can be displaced or pivoted. The switching-on protection consists of a plunger which is supported displaceably in the switching-on path of the on and off switch in the respective apparatus housing, against the pressure of a spring, and which can be operated from the exterior via operating means which act on it, for example of a wall of a case or charging apparatus or wall holder for this apparatus, or by placing down on a bracket. For this purpose, the plunger projects out of the apparatus housing like a stud, or a stud is located on the wall of a case or charging apparatus or wall holder, which stud acts on the plunger when the respective apparatus is pushed in and pushes the plunger into the switching-on path of the on and off switch.
