PURPOSE:To improve machining speed by providing a circuit through which discharging energy increasing pulses are incorporated into a pulse train in a device that applies said pulse train having a pulse width and interval of a certain machining unit, to a machining gap and carry out electric discharge machining. CONSTITUTION:When machining operation is started, a switch 5 is turned on and off by mean of a pulse train having a pulse width and a suspension width generated by an oscillator 7 and a pulse train with a voltage V1 is applied to the machining gap between an electrode 1 and a workpiece 2 by means of a power source 3. And pulse signals are outputted from a mono-multiplexor 9 at each set counting of a counter 8 and are added to the pulse signals from the oscillator 7 at an AND gate 10, and the obtained synchronized pulses turn a switch 6 on and off. Thereby, a pulse train with a higher voltage V2 (>V1) from a power source 4 that supplies discharging energy increasing pulses, are additionally applied to a machining gap, thus, carrying out electric discharge machining by means of both of the pulse trains with above mentioned voltages V1, V2. |
