A process for agglomerating dry and/or wet soot from electric arc processes for pyrolysing hydrocarbons is characterised in that dry soot initially prewetted with organic auxiliaries or unprewetted wet soot is mixed whilst stirring at 80-160 DEG C with an agglomerisable aqueous soot suspension originating from partial oxidation processes and having soot contents of 1-2% with organic auxiliaries added, and the soot/oil pellets produced are separated in a conventional manner using screens, prepelletisation being carried out before pelletisation with only a sub-quantity of the aqueous soot suspension, which is diluted with additional water in a ratio of water to aqueous soot suspension of at least 1:1 or higher. |
