[Also in Division C1] An articulated table for hot enamelling of a bath 1 and similar castings comprises a cradle 3 pivotable about an axis X the cradle carrying a drive shaft 13, the drive shaft having a platform 14 thereon which rotates a bearer 8 for the bath about an axis Z, the platform having mounted thereon means for displacing the bearer 8 along the axis U independently of the angular position of the drive shaft 13. The cradle is moved about the axis X by means of a motor Ml, motors MT, MR and their ancillary equipment acting as a counterweight for the bath and its support The movement of the bearer 8 along the line U is provided by a double crank arrangement driven by the motor MT through a differential gear 45 shaft 25 which is coaxial with shaft 13 and a gear 26. Gear 26 drives gear 27 which is rigid with arm B1 and rotates on shaft 15. This causes the arm B1 of the double crank B1, B2 to move and gear wheel 32 rotatably mounted on shaft 33 of arm B1 walks around gear wheel 31 fixed to fixed shaft 15. Rotation of gear wheel 32 causes rotation of gear wheel 34 and hence arm B2. This produces movement of the bearer 8 along the line U and arms Cl and C2 are driven from the movement of bearer 8 and act only to maintain a straight line motion. Arms B3 and C3 support a counterweight which prevents eccentric weight about the axis 7. The weight 51 may be interchangeable. Motor MR provides drive for rotation of the platform 14 and hence the bath and counterweight about the axis 7. If the motor MT is stationary then shafts 13 and 25 rotate together due to the differential 45 and hence pure rotational movement is produced about the axis Z. In a modification (Fig. 8) the axis X passes through the journals 4 and through the centre of gravity of the bath. Quadrant gear 63 on the cradle is driven by a quadrant gear 64 driven from a motor M1 through a gearwheel 72 and a rod 68 pivoted at 71 and 69. |
