The advantage of this design lies in the fact that the bearing eye of the coupling fork half can remain undivided and therefore form-rigid, and the installation of a journal cross with a large journal diameter and roller bearings with a high load-bearing capacity is possible without difficulty. The join between the fork halves lies in the zone subjected to the least stress.
