In a process for polymerising photocuring plastics, in particular of tooth replacement parts such as dental prostheses and dental prosthesis parts, especially based on acrylics, the plastic being modelled on to a pre-formed metal plate and this pre-formed unit being irradiated in a pressure chamber, if necessary in an at least low-oxygen atmosphere by irradiation with light with a wavelength suitable for photopolymerisation, in order to achieve a relatively high material hardness, a good material bonding and an absence of inclusions, it is proposed to generate a superatomospheric pressure in the pressure chamber. <IMAGE>
