PURPOSE:To obtain fine-grained CdS having no structure of a high order by adjusting the concns. of acids in a soln. so that the particle size of each single particle becomes a specified value, precipitating CdS from the soln., and allowing it to stand in a soln. acidified with sulfuric acid for a long time. CONSTITUTION:When the concn. (N) of sulfuric acid and that of hydrochloric acid are represented by (x) and (y), respectively, the concns. of sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid in an aqueous soln. contg. Cd are adjusted so as to satisfy an equation 3.0>=x+2y>=2.5 (where y>=0.1). CdS is precipitated from the soln., and it is allowed to stand in an aqueous soln. contg. >=4N sulfuric acid to manufacture CdS. The standing time depends on the concn. of sulfuric acid, and the preferred time is >=10hr. |
