PURPOSE:To provide a corrosionproof material suitable for use in inhibiting the corrosion of exterior finish materials exposed to the air, by adding fine carbon powder, MgO powder and fine Zn powder or Mg/Al alloy powder to a rubber substrate vulcanizable with an org. peroxide or a metal oxide. CONSTITUTION:A corrosionproof member is obtd. by molding a rubber material obtd. by 20-200wt% fine carbon powder, 20-100wt% magnesium oxide powder and 40-350wt% fine zinc powder or 40-200wt% fine magnesium/aluminum alloy powder to a rubber substrate vulcanizable with an org. peroxide and a metal oxide. Examples of the rubbers are ethylene rubber, propylene rubber and chloroprene rubber. When a surface 1b in contact with the nut of a corrosionproof cap 1 is allowed to stand in an unvulcanized state and other parts are vulcanized in the vulcanization of the rubber substrate contg. said additives added thereto, an area exposed to a space at the interfacial boundary between the fine zinc particles and the fine Mg/Al alloy particles dispersed in the surface 1b of the rubber substrate is greatly increased so that the corrosionproof function can be kept. |
