An oxygen-scavenging and corrosion-inhibiting agent for fluidic systems comprising an aminoguanidine compound selected from the formula: <IMAGE> or a salt thereof, wherein R is selected from H or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; wherein X is selected from NH or NNH2; and Y is selected from -NH2 or -NHNH2.
