PURPOSE:To make cell thickness and response speed uniform, to suppress generation of Newton's rings and to make the range of a visual angle wider and the thickness smaller by providing substrates on the top and bottom of a glass substrate and constituting integrally a liquid crystal display body. CONSTITUTION:The plastic film 12 of the 1st electrode substrate 1 sandwiching a polarizing film 11 has the coefft. of expansion larger than the coefft. of expansion of a lower film 13 and therefore if said substrate is adhered to the 2nd electrode glass substrate 7 by an adhesive layer 14 at a high temp. and is allowed to cool to a room temp., the outside thereof is going to curve on the side opposite from a liquid crystal layer 6 but since the glass substrate 7 is hardly curved by an environmental change, the substrate 1 is held by spacers 5 and is thus prevented from deforming. The 3rd electrode substrate 2 is constituted of a polarizing film 21, plastic films 22, 23, the spacers 5 and the layer 6 in the same manner as with the substrate 1 and even if the substrate is going to curve into a recessed shape on the side opposite from the layer 6, the substrate 2 is held by spacers 5 and is prevented from deforming. The laminated two layers 6 are thus made respectively uniform. |
