PURPOSE:To simplify an operation for reproduction and at the same time to attain miniaturization for a cassette tape recorder by using a mechanical tape end detecting system and starting the reproduction by means of one member of a detecting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In a reproduction mode a power slider 57 moves to D direction with revolution of a loading gear 48, and a power arm 65 turns to turn an oscillating arm 40 counterclockwise. As a result, a P auxiliary slider 118 is moved upward, and a trigger arm 19 kicks a release arm 140. Thus a lock slider 142 is moved downward to release the lock of energization for revolution of a reproduction cam gear 145. Then the gear 145 engages with a flywheel 6. In this case, the slider 118 pushes a switch press plate 135 to turn on a switch 139. As a result, a motor 2 is revolved to revolve the flywheel 6 and then the gear 145. The slider 142 touches the gear 145 to lock the revolution of the gear 145.
