1425771 Stabilizer combination for oxymethylene polymers HOECHST AG 20 Aug 1973 [2 Sept 1972] 39287/73 Addition to 1321184 Heading C3P Oxymethylene polymers are stabilized by a combination of (i) a magnesium, calcium, barium or strontium salt of a carboxylic acid of 22 to 36 carbon atoms and (ii) a compound of the general formula in which R 1 is a C 1-6 alkyl group, R 2 is hydrogen or a C 1-6 alkyl group, A is a bito hexa-valent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, m is 0 to 6 and n is the valency of A. In typical procedures, trioxandioxolan or trioxan-ethylene oxide copolymers or an acetylated formaldehyde homopolymer are mixed with (i) magnesium or calcium montonate, calcium or strontium behenate, and (ii) 1,6-bis-(beta- (3,5 - di - t - butyl - 4 - hydroxyphenyl) - propionyloxy) - hexane or tetrakis - (beta - (3,5- di - t - butyl - 4 - hydroxy - phenyl) - propionyloxymethyl)-methane. |
