PURPOSE:To obtain a KANJI (chinese character) printer controller which can prevent the hang-up by converting previously an unloaded funtion character into a packaged function character containing invalidity in case said unloaded function character is received. CONSTITUTION:For a KANJI printer controller, a part of the function character is sometimes unloaded owing to a low order device of the same family. In this case, if the virtual/actual conversion information 1 on the function character obtained by a command given from a host or a virtual/actual conversion information 2 on the function character sent from an operation panel exists, a virtual/ actual conversion table register 3 of function characters is set. An operator 5 converts the virtual function character obtained from a reception register 4 for KANJI text into an actual function character. The result of this conversion is stored in an actual function character register 6 and undergoes the arithmetic processing through an operator 7 for actual function character. In such a way, a proper virtual/actual conversion is previously carried out when an unloaded function character is received. This can prevent the hang-up due to a data error. |
