PURPOSE:To obtain a built-up rolling roll free from breakage troubles without requiring any special machine work and maintenance for a high-degree shrinkage fitting by sticking a metal of low softening temperature onto the groove-formed inner surface of a roll sleeve and the groove-formed outer surface of a shaft respectively and fitting and fixing them to each other by shrinkage fitting successively to make said metal bite into the space between them. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 4, 5 are provided respectively, in a screwed form or parallelly to a shaft 2 axis, to the inner surface of a roll sleeve (or roll ring) 1 made of wear- resistant alloy (tool steel, for instance) and the outer surface of the shaft 2. After a metal (alloy) (Al, for instance) 3, having low softening temperature of 200-650 deg.C and is easily deformable by a small pressure, in densely and tightly stuck, as an intermediate material, to the surfaces of the grooves 5 of the shaft 2; the roll sleeve, etc. 1 are shrink fitted to the shaft 2. The shrinkage fitting degree in this case is selected by calculation so that it finally attains >=0.3/1,000 after curing and annealing the joining part, mentioned as follows. Next, after cooling the sleeve, etc. 1, the joining part is cured and annealed by heating it to 200-650 deg.C to soften and fluidize the metal (alloy) 3 so as to fill it partially or perfectly in the groove 4, 5, thereby obtaining a desired built-up rolling roll. |
