MOLD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To provide a mold for continuous casting having good joining performance in the stage of joining and assembling again after disassembly by providing small grooves in the joint parts on the inside wall surface side formed by joining plural mold pieces, and filling the small grooves and covering the inside wall surface with a metallic plating layer. CONSTITUTION:Small grooves 2 having a rectangular section are provided in the joint parts 31-34 on the inside wall surface side of a cylindrical mold body 1 formed by joining mold pieces 1A-1D and coating the same. A metallic layer 4 which fills the grooves 2 and covers the entire inside wall surface of the body 1 is provided to form a columnar structure having a perpendicular overlap part 6 via a micro-gap 5 on the inside wall surface of the mold. Then the layer 4 can be ruptured and parted along the structure 6 having the perpendicular overlap part 6 in each groove 2 in the stage of disassembling the body 1. Since the ruptured surface is smooth and has directivity perpendicular to the inside wall surface, the joining performance in the reassembly is improved.
