PURPOSE:To secure the accuracy of printing by a method in which mutually engaging auxiliary gears are provided between printing cylinders and a pressure angle is made smaller in such a way that the cylinder gear is normally engaged when the cylinder comes in and also the engaging depth of the auxiliary gear becomes greater when the cylinder comes out. CONSTITUTION:A web from a paper supplier is passed through between rubber cylinders 19 and 20, and a picture transferred from the plate cylinder is printed on both sides of the web. During the printing, cylinder gear 32 and 33 engage with each other normally to turn the rubber cylinders 19 and 20 synchronously, but auxiliary gears 41 and 42 are not engaged with each other and an aperture is formed between both the gears. When the printing operation is ended and eccentric bearings 22 and 29 are turned by a detachable lever 36, the rubber cylinder is separated from the plate cylinder and the cylinder is drawn out. In this case, the aperture between the teeth of the cylinder gears 32 and 33 becomes greater than that between the auxiliary gears 41 and 42. Even when the auxiliary gears 41 and 42 engage with each other and the rotation is transmitted, the rotation is not transmitted between the cylinder gears 32 and 33. Since the dimensions of the cylinder gear can be determined without being restricted when the cylinder is drawn out, the printing accuracy can be raised. |
