PURPOSE:To enable to use a small type motor having a low output, by providing a detent mechanism which functions only at the time of manual paper feeding without functioning at the time of automatic paper feeding, in a paper-feeding mechanism in a typewriter or the like. CONSTITUTION:In the case of automatic paper feeding, the rotation of a pulse motor 6 is transmitted to a gear 15a through an intermediate gear 19, a knob 12 is rotated, and further, a paper-feeding roller 2 is rotated through a paper- feeding shaft 1, whereby a paper is automatically fed. In this case, a detent gear 13 is freely rotatable in relation to the shaft 1, and is not rotated since it is pressed by a detent spring 11, so that the detent mechanism does not function. On the other hand, in the case of manual paper feeding, when the knob 12 is pressed against a spring 17 and is rotated by engaging ratchets 14, 16 to each other, the detent gear 13 is rotated as one body therewith, so that the detent mechanism functions for manually feeding the paper. Accordingly, load on the pulse motor 6 can be reduced. |
