REFERENCE ELECTRODE FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE

PURPOSE:To obtain a reference electrode which can be applied to the continuous measurement in a high temperature water plant by a method wherein a film is provided to the outside surface of an inside electrolytic solution container which has solution ventilation holes and thermal expansion of the inside electrolytic solution caused by the temperature rise is absorbed by the space between the container and the film. CONSTITUTION:Concaves 12 are provided to a drum portion of an inside electrolytic solution container 5' which composes a reference electrode. Solution ventilation holes 13 are provided to the upper parts of the drum portion to connect the inside 14 and the outside 14 continuously. A cylindrical film 15 is provided to the outside of the container 5' and the excess inside electrolytic solution 6 at the time of thermal expansion is stored in a space between the film 15 and the outside of the container 5'. A cylindrical metal sintered film 16 is applied to the outside of the film 15 so that the pressure fluctuation in the measured liquid side does not have effect on the film 15. An ion penetrable diffusion layer 19 made of porous zirconia or the like is provided to a bottom hole 20 of the container 5'.
