<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a fuel filter device from compricating and having a large size, and as well, to make it possible to efficiently heat fuel, by disposing, in a pump constituting a part of a fuel system, a heating device including a fuel heating element. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 34 is turned on when the tempoerature of fuel flowing through a fuel discharge port 1d in an upper body 1 in the upper section of a filter assembly 2 is below zero deg., and therefore, a heating element is energized to generate a heat which is transmitted to a housing. Then fuel pushes up a valve body 10 and flows into a diaphragm chamber 12. Since the bottom of the chamber 12 and the bottom of a heating device 21 is near together, the fuel flows through the chamber in a film-like stream, and since wax in the fuel is melted due to the heat efficiency, no clogging of a filter element 2b occurs. The heating element rapidly increases its resistance when the temperature is above a specific temperature, and therefore the amount of current passing theretrough becomes vary slight, and when the temperature lowers the resistance rapidly decreases so that the overheat of the heating element may be prevented. With this arrangement, since the heating element is disposed in a dead space within a pump, the filter device may be aimed at being minaturized.</p> |
