PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in live preservability and high in thermal color forming property, by a method wherein at least one main constituent is emulsified, and thereafter a wall of a high polymeric substance is formed around particles of the emulsified material to microencapsulate the latter, in a diazo base thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:One or more of a diazo compound, a coupling component and a color forming adjuvant are dissolved or dispersed in a solvent such as a phosphoric acid ester or a phthalate, and a wall of a high polymeric substance is formed around the oily particles thus formed. Polyurethane, polyurea, a polyamide, a polyester or the like may be mentioned as the high polymeric substance. When using polyurethane, a polyvalent isocianate and a polyol are mixed into an oily liquid to be microencapsulated, the resultant mixture is emulsified or dispersed in water, and temperature is raised to induce a high polymer forming reaction at the interfaces of the oily particles, thereby producing walls of microcapsules. Components other than the core substance are incorporated in a photosensitive layer on the outside of the microcapsules. The thus obtained microcapsules permit each of the components to permeate therethrough with the result of a reaction, without being broken, when being heated. |
