PURPOSE:To correct the effects of unevenness in a static magnetic field or non- linearity in a slant magnetic field, by correcting a picture at every point by using intensity distribution data of the static magnetic field or the slant magnetic field, which has been measured in advance. CONSTITUTION:A picture C' (I', J') before correction, whose signal is processed by a computer 9, is stored in a memory 17. In a memory 18, values (i, j) and (DELTA1, DELTA2) corresponding to all picture-element points, which are computed by the expression (9), are stored. The computer 9 computes the expression (10) and makes the computed result to be the picture-element data after correction at the picture-element point (I, J). Namely, C (I, J)=go is obtained. This computation is performed for all the picture-element points (I, J), and the result is displayed on a CRT display 16. In the expression; C (I, J) represents the distribution of an object; E (I, J) represents the deviation of the distribution of the static magnetic field from a reference quntity; and Gx and Gy represent the magnitudes in slants of the slant magnetic field in the directions of (x) and (y), respectively.
