PURPOSE:To reliably separate and feed sheets different in size and thickness sheet by sheet by providing a four-joints rotating chain with a friction wheel and a weight. CONSTITUTION:A friction wheel 19 is rotatably supported on the second link member 10 of a four-joints rotating chain and brought into contact with sheets 2 on a paper feed table 1 from above. The contact pressure between the friction wheel 19 and the sheet 2 is adjusted by a weight 23 mounted on the third link member 12 of the chain, and the friction wheel 19 is rotated by a driving motor 21. The sheet 2 is moved along a paper guide 6 orthogonally to the axial direction of a separating roller 3 of an automatic paper feeder, and stopped, with the leading end of the sheet 2 located at a contact line 6 between the separating roller 3 and a separating piece 4. Subsequently, the separating roller 3 is rotated, and the sheet 2 is passed between the separating roller 3 and the separating piece 4 to be fed out to the outside of the apparatus. |
