PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply and certainly eliminate the clogging of a cyclone without lowering the operation rate of an apparatus, by discovering the clogging of the cyclone in an early stage without stopping the operation of a combustion apparatus while performing the removal of a clogging substance within a short time. CONSTITUTION:In a method for preventing the clogging of cyclones 2, 5 each for separating the dust contained in the exhaust gas generated in a combustion tower, the clogging of the under-flow side of the cyclone is detected by a clogging detecting mechanism consisting of temp. detectors 50-55 and a control apparatus 56. On the other hand, pressure blocking mechanisms 4, 7 comprising dampers 20-23 are provided to the under-flow side of the cyclone and opened by the clogging signal of the aforementioned clogging detecting mechanism while exhaust gas is flowed to the under-flow side to remove a clogging substance. By this method, the generation of clogging is discovered within an insignificant state without stopping the operation of the apparatus and the elimination of clogging can be further performed.
