Transport chair primarily for handicapped individuals with a chassis (1) featuring front and rear pairs of wheels (5-8). These are rotationally mounted in the chassis and designed to be used on flooring. Handles (30) are featured to guide the chair. The axle (9) for the front set of wheels (5, 6) is positioned closer to the centre of gravity (38) for the chair with an occupant (36) than the axle (10) for the rear wheels (7, 8). Supports (11, 12) are mounted in front of the front pair of wheels and are situated a bit higher relative to the position of the wheels when on the ground. The supports are normally situated at a distance up from the ground. Steering can be accomplished though exertion on the handles (30), not only in lateral movement, but also in such a direction that pressure between the rear wheels and the ground is reduced or eliminated.<IMAGE> |
