PURPOSE:To prevent a wheel from loosening and being stolen, by providing such an arrangement that an internal gear ring having ratchet teeth in its entirely peripheral inner surface is integrally incorporated with the end of a threaded end opening, and a lock body is attached to the end plate of the cap nut so that the rotation of the cam in a lock allows balls, a pressing spring and a locking piece to engage with and disengage from the ratchet teeth. CONSTITUTION:A key which is not shown is inserted into a lock body N and is turned by 90 deg., in its unlocking direction, a cam 33 is rotated by means of a mandrel 57, and when concave surfaces 35 face balls 37, a pressing springs 46 push back locking pieces 41 and as well the trains of balls 37 through 40 to disengage the locking pieces 41 from the ratchet teeth 18 of an internal gear ring 17 so that a cap nut N may be rotated to allow a wheel to be removed. When the key is turned by 90 deg. in its locking direction after the cap nut N is tightened, the projecting parts 36 of the cam 34 push balls 37 through 40 to engage the locking piece 41 with the ratchet teeth 18 of the internal gear ring 17 for inhibiting the rotation of the cap nut N, thereby the loosening of wheel is prevented. With this arrangement the loosening of the wheel and the theft thereof may be surely prevented. |
