The device for operating a high-voltage circuit breaker under a dielectric gas atmosphere comprises, inside a cylindrical insulator (6), an insulating operating connecting-rod (5) driven by a drive member. The connecting-rod (5) includes longitudinal ribs (14), the curvature of the radial end (15) of which follows the internal shape of the insulator with some clearance. This device can be used for controlling sulphur hexafluoride self-blasting high-voltage circuit breakers.
