PURPOSE:To improve record/reproduction characteristics and also to reduce the thickness for an optical pickup by shifting an objective lens in parallel to the radius direction of a disk to perform tracking control without generating any aberration. CONSTITUTION:A hollow square columnar focus driving coil 16 and hollow square columnar tracking driving coils 17a and 17b are fixed into a lens barrel 15 with the centers of their height directions set approximately coincident with each other. Then a pair of elastic support members 19a and 19b are provided symmetrically up and down to the centers of said height directions respectively. Furthermore, magnet units 18a and 18b are set opposite to the coil 16 and the coils 17a and 17b respectively to obtain the driving power. Thus an objective lens 13 dan be displaced in the XX direction with no tilt, and the tracking control is possible. |
