The circuit has a comparator comprising a differential amplifier. The outputs of an adder and a subtractor are coupled via a demodulator to the inputs of the differential amplifier. The differential amplifier is actuated during line flyback to evaluate the colour sync. signal. The differential amplifier's output is a control signal for the phase shifter that keeps the two inputs of the differential amplifier always at the same level. The differential amplifier is actuated via a burst blanking stage. A device stores the output voltage from the differential amplifier.
