PURPOSE:To prevent slip perfectly and to form a firm hollow coil by maintaining upward a specific angle, with respect to a straight line connecting the centers of a driving knurled roll and a driven roll, from an intersecting point of the outer periphery of the driving knurled roll and said straight line. CONSTITUTION:After entering a curling device, a strap 2 passes through a guide passage formed bya pair of projecting parts 133, 133A and is bitten into the space between a driving knurled roll 101 and a driven knurled roll 121 and is given an advancing force by the friction to collide with a contacting part 130A of a strap directing piece, and its 1st roll 2A is curled into a coil-shape. The following part of the strap is curled into the same radius of curvature, and is formed into a small, hollow, and coil-shaped strap. A rocking arm 122 is pivotally attached to a frame 102 and is made rockable by axis 126, on an inclined straight line extending upward from the intersecting point of the outer periphery of the roll 101 and a vertical axis while maintaining an angle alpha of 20-25 deg. with respect to the straight line, the vertical axis, which connects the axial centers of the rolls 101, 121. |
