PURPOSE:To eliminate an oil leaking defect and bent hole and to omit finishing of the hole in production of an air guide for an engine by sandwiching a core pipe fitted onto right and left butt core pins by means of mating dies and casting the guide lifter. CONSTITUTION:A core pipe is inserted onto the core pins 1 of cylinders 8 and the pins 1 are butted to each other. A core pipe 2 is sandwiched by the core 6 of a stationary die 5 and the core 4 of a movable die 3 and a molten metal is charged into a casting space 7 to cast a guide lifter. The pins 1 are removed by the cylinders 8 after releasing the dies. The core pins 1 may be water-cooled if drawing is difficult on account of a long size. The deformation of the core pipe is prevented by the pins 1 interposed internally therein. The hole is made straight with an equal diameter and the need for post-finishing is eliminated. The casting is free from oil leakage. |
