The device comprises an enclosure 1, consisting of a movable part 4 and of a fixed part 2 which are assembled by means of a rigid fixture 5. The rigid fixture 5 comprises circular projections 6, 7 and circular clips 8, 9 embracing respectively these projections 6, 7. One of the projections, projection 6, and one of the clips, clip 8, are made respectively on the halves of the perimeters of the sections of the movable part 4 and of the fixed part 2 of the enclosure 1; the second projection 7 and the second clip 9 are made on the remaining halves of the perimeters of the sections of the fixed part 2 and of the movable part 4 of the enclosure 1. This device may be used in mechanical construction for welding materials by explosion, for hardening materials by means of shock waves or for compressing powder materials. <IMAGE>
