PURPOSE:To increase a read speed by setting optionally a distance scanned by a scanning means to a counter, and controlling optionally a scanning position of the scanning means. CONSTITUTION:An original image is formed on an image pickup element 7 by a lens 6, converted to an electric signal, amplified 20, and thereafter, converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 21, brought to edit-processing, etc. by a processing circuit 22, and thereafter, outputted as a picture output. A driving circuit 23 is a circuit used for driving the image pickup element 7, and generates simultaneously a main scanning section signal S1 corresponding to one main scanning section. A counter 24 is a circuit used for counting this main scanning section signal S1, receives an original tip signal S2 from an original tip sensor 10, starts to count the main scanning section signal S1, generates an end signal S3 at the time point when a value set by a CPU25 is counted, and informs it to the CPU25. |
