<p>Devices for fixing cutting elements provided with clamping cradles to tool holders are often provided with a clamping arm which bears to maintain the cutting elements in horizontal and vertical positions in at least one clamping cradle provided therein and which is in connection with the tool holder by means of a clamping unit with clamping direction to the tool holder. If the clamping arm has a plurality of clamping fingers arranged next to each other, those fingers are each engaged into their respective clamping cradle. In order to improve the clamping action of the clamping arm by generating a dynamic effect which is exerted not only in the direction of the cutting element support and in order to improve the economical characteristics of the fixing device, the clamping arm (4) is provided with a plurality of clamping fingers (14, 15) which are engaged into the clamping cradle and which are elastically movable towards each other in the clamping plane (arrow 13) of the fixing element by means of a slot (11) arranged outside them and separating one from the other, i.e. in superposed relationship in the clamping direction. At least one of the clamping fingers provides, as a pre-clamping element (15), for the lateral positioning of the cutting element (3) in parallel to the clamping direction; at least another main clamping finger (14) secures, as a main clamping element, the cutting element support in the clamping direction to the tool holder. </p> |
