Apparatus for the production of blocks of fibre mats consisting of ceramic fibres

The fibre mats can be used as the inner lining of industrial furnaces. The apparatus consists of an assembly box, open at the front longitudinal side and at the upper side, in which the fibre mats are stacked one on top of the other, and of a cover board lying on the fibre mats. Grooves are formed in the cover board and base board of the assembly box, spaced apart and extending over the width of the assembly box, and are mutually opposite in pairs; U-shaped holding forks can be pushed into the said grooves, for holding the pressed-together fibre mats. The sidewalls of the assembly box have openings which serve to receive a press rod which presses the cover board onto the fibre mats lying in the assembly box.
