A loading space cover (10) for motor vehicles, in particular for pickup truck, consists of an at least partially flexible cover tarpaulin (13). The cover tarpaulin (13) is attached on the vehicle body and can be held in an open or closed position. Support rods (12) arranged at a parallel distance from one another are attached to the cover tarpaulin (13). The support rods (12) form folding-in regions of the cover tarpaulin (13) between them. Each support rod (12) bears in each case one guide body (26) at its two free ends. The guide body (26) is held securely against displacement with respect to the axial direction (x) of the support rod (12) in each case in a guide rail (11) which is attached to the vehicle body and extends essentially at right angles to the support rod (12). The loading space cover (10) is easy to use and at the same time can withstand high stresses. <IMAGE>
