Method for determining the target azimuth in a monopulse radar

To determine the target azimuth in a monopulse radar from several monopulse responses, an angle window is defined around the antenna centre and monopulse responses, the values of deviation from the antenna centre of which fall into this window, are excluded from the target azimuth determination. Of the monopulse responses outside the window, preferably those having the least deviation from the antenna centre are selected for azimuth determination. The determination of a monopulse characteristic from more than two responses by linear regression and the determination of the target azimuth as the zero crossing of this monopulse characteristic is particularly advantageous.
