PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having an excellent granular characteristic and high sensitivity by using a mixture composed of at least two kinds of silver halide emulsion particles of which one kind is a monodisperse emulsion and making the iodine content of the halide emulsion particles having the min. average grain size larger than the iodine content of the other particles. CONSTITUTION:The monodisperse emulsion is used for at least one kind out of the silver halide emulsions to be mixed to constitute the silver halide photographic sensitive material contg. surface latent image type silver iodide mixed with >=2 kinds of silver halide (silver iodobromide or silver chlorobromide) emulsions. The iodine content of the emulsion particles having the min. average grain size among the emulsifiers to be mixed is made larger than the iodine contents of any other particles. The particles of the silver halide emulsions preferably contain >=20mol% silver iodide existing locally therein. The silver halide photographic sensitive having the excellent granular characteristic and high sensitivity is thus obtd. |
