PURPOSE:To improve the traveling performance of an engine at highland by correcting the upper set value of an intake negative pressure according to the detected value of an atmospheric pressure when fuel supply is suspended in a prescribed operation range where the intake negative pressure is below a set value in engine deceleration. CONSTITUTION:During engine operation, an ECU5 calculates the fundamental fuel injection timing Ti on the basis of each output of an intake pressure sensor 8 and an engine revolution number sensor 11, and said injection timing Ti is corrected according to the correction coefficient obtained in accordance with each parameter signal supplied from an intake temp. sensor 9, water-temp. sensor 10, etc., and calculates the fuel injection timing T of a fuel injection valve 6. When the ECU5 judges a prescribed operation range where an intake negative pressure becomes below a set value in engine deceleration, fuel-cut is carried- out. In this case, the ECU5 is connected to an atmospheric-pressure sensor 16 and reduces the above-described set value as the atmospheric pressure reduces. Thus, fuel-cut can be carried-out properly even at highland.
