Rotary lid joint

In a rotary lid joint, especially for boiler installations, which consists of two bearing blocks to be retained at a fixed location and of a joint part rotatable between them to a limited extent about the joint axis and intended for connection to the lid, for relieving the weight of the lid in opening positions there engages in the rotatable joint part a spring of adjustable prestress, the pressure force of which varies during the opening movement, it is proposed to provide in the rotatable joint part a compression spring which is supported perpendicularly to the joint axis and which presses on to an eccentric pin which is guided on both sides parallel to the joint axis in a slotted guide of the joint part and which engages positively with both ends projecting from the joint part into a respective long-hole guide arranged approximately radially relative to the joint axis, on the bearing blocks, in such a way that, when the joint part is being rotated from the closed position into the opening positions, the spring (6) is compressed to an increasing extent. The eccentric engagement of the compression spring on the rotatable joint part provides a rotary-joint construction which is advantageous in terms of production and assembly and which ensures that, with the lid lowered, the highest spring tension is exerted before the closing region and the lid, when appropriately set in its opening position, is held <> by the corresponding restoring force.
