Top-cutting device for a boiled egg

The device comprises a lower part 1 and an upper part 2 which are connected to one another so as to be unfoldable by means of a hinge 7. A conical holder 3 for reception of the egg 11 is arranged in the lower part 1. A knife guide 4 for the insertion of a knife on cutting the top of the egg is provided between the lower and upper parts. A spring-mounted retainer 9, 10 can be used for holding the top of the egg when cutting it off. The device which forms a unit is used for cutting the top of the egg and as a conventional egg cup. Suitable materials are metal, porcelain, plastic or wood. <IMAGE>
